CSO Role Grows in Children’s Hospitals

Chief strategy officers (CSOs) are proving pivotal to children’s hospitals striving to build relationships in the new reform era. In a recent article in Becker’s Hospital Review, Witt/Kieffer Senior Vice President and Chief Quality Officer Jim King provides insights into finding the right leader that will help a children’s hospital align with pediatric physician groups.

A CSO often serves as an essential link between hospitals and pediatricians, and determines how to form stronger relationships between the two. “The right CSO will have enough charisma and composure to persuade physicians and executives to work together, which in turn opens doors to alignment and ACOs,” says King.
