Closing the Gap in Healthcare Leadership Diversity: A Witt/Kieffer Study

Over the past few decades, there has been incremental progress regarding leadership diversity in the healthcare industry. However, this progress has not been sufficient and many career barriers still exist for women, racial and ethnic minorities, and other diverse professionals seeking to rise to the top. These are the findings of Witt/Kieffer’s most recent healthcare leadership diversity study – its fourth since 1998. The study received input from more than 300 healthcare executives, and shows clear distinctions between the opinions of males and females, and between those of Caucasians and racially/ethnically diverse groups.

The report based on the survey, “Closing the Gap in Healthcare Leadership Diversity,” suggests that continued commitment is needed to drive further, much-needed progress.
