Finding the Perfect Hospital CFO

Healthcare CFOs no longer just handle the financials - they help run the business as well. The CFO is taking on a more strategic role in healthcare, requiring some very specific skills and experiences. Tom Quinn, senior partner, discussed the evolving role in a recent Healthcare Finance News article.

“They must help clinical folks manage bigger and better healthcare groups, keep costs under control, and look for new revenue opportunities,” Quinn says. He points out that successful CFOs should have prior healthcare CFO experience, as well as experience managing physician-based contracts, health plans, and risk management.
