I have exciting news about a change in leadership at Witt/Kieffer. Last December, our CEO Jim Gauss shared his desire to return full time to working with clients to find leaders who make a difference. Thanks to Jim’s exceptional leadership over the last five years, Witt/Kieffer continues to deliver on our 40+ year commitment to conduct quality searches for clients.
We saw this transition as an opportunity to identify a CEO who shares our values and can guide us to new levels of serving our clients. We also retained a search firm, which gave us the opportunity to see the process from your perspective and meet many talented leaders in the field.
I am delighted to announce the selection of Charles (Chuck) W. B. Wardell III who brings us a lifetime of leadership, as well as 15 years of experience in executive search. After military service and graduation from Harvard, Chuck served in the White House under two Presidents, going on to leadership roles with American Express, Travelers and MasterCard. In executive search, he held several leadership roles and had significant experience in a variety of industries, including conducting searches for boards of both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. Most recently, he was Korn/Ferry’s Chairman of Emerging Markets and Senior Advisor to the CEO.
Most important, Chuck was drawn to the firm’s mission of bringing outstanding leadership solutions to organizations committed to improving the quality of life. In his role as CEO, Chuck will also lead a major new initiative – the Witt/Kieffer board of directors practice.
