Vice President for Development

The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) seeks an accomplished leader to serve as the Vice President for Development. Reporting to the President, and serving as a key member of the cabinet, the Vice President for development will be expected to expand the resource base and broadly promote the institution regionally, nationally and internationally. The new Vice President will oversee a full service development office including a staff of 44 and a budget of $2 million.
Enrolling nearly 15,000 students, UT Dallas has experienced exponential growth and it is poised to be one of the nation's best public universities, providing high quality science, business and engineering education and research. Located in the technology rich "Telecom Corridor" of Richardson, a Dallas suburb, UT Dallas has embarked on an ambitious plan of strategic growth in research, faculty, enrollment and facilities.
The University seeks a Vice President for development who will lead efforts to create a successful, vibrant and sustainable advancement program, to build endowment, to engage alumni and friends in the life of the institution and to attract new sources of philanthropic revenue to support its strategic goals. Planning is underway to assess the feasibility of a capital campaign.
The ideal candidate will be an ambitious, high performing creative leader who is excited about joining a quality university that is proud of its accomplishments and extraordinary future. This person will have a broad portfolio of fund-raising and leadership achievements, at least 10 years of progressive experience, including having played an important role in a major comprehensive campaign and in alumni relations activities. He/she will be a results-oriented leader who is excited about assisting UT Dallas in its vision of "Creating the Future" in key focus areas. The location of the UT Dallas campus in the Dallas Forth Worth area strategically positions the University for ever emerging global competition. A very aggressive, high energy, organized professional will see this as a challenge and an opportunity. A master's degree is preferred.
