Associate Dean for Executive Education, School of Management

The School of Management at The University of Texas at Dallas is seeking an entrepreneurial leader to take our innovative and highly regarded executive education programs to new levels of success. Reporting to the dean of the School of Management, the associate dean will be responsible for assessing opportunities, raising the profile and expanding market penetration regionally, nationally, and internationally for existing and new program offerings. The associate dean will develop a vision for executive education that builds on the tradition of highly innovative quality programs, creates synergies with other UT Dallas programs, and resonates with the needs of the corporate marketplace.
The School's faculty is internationally renowned, with research productivity ranking in the top 20 nationally. The Executive MBA program is currently ranked by The Financial Times as the top program in Texas and number 10 nationally. Forbes magazine recognizes the Global Leadership Executive MBA, one of the first distance education programs in the country, as a "Best of the Web." The Project Management program is one of only a few in the world accredited by the Project Management Institute (PMI). The School also offers a unique physician executive program, including a Healthcare Management MS and MBA, jointly taught with UT Southwestern Medical School. Certificate and custom-developed programs are also offered. Overall, Executive Education serves approximately 400 students/participants a year.
The Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) region is the fourth largest US metropolitan area and has the fourth highest concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters. Its GDP, at $315 billion in 2007, ranks it the 12th largest metro economy in the world. We expect our new associate dean for Executive Education to lead the School to tap into these opportunities.
Proven ability in cultivating corporate partnerships, business networking, program development, and managing a revenue center are required. Prior management experience in executive education in an institution of higher education or in the corporate sector is preferred. A Masters degree is required; a Ph.D. is preferred.
