Associate Vice President for Development

Drexel University College of Medicine, which has the largest medical student enrollment of any private medical school in the U.S., seeks an associate vice president (AVP) for development to help build upon its considerable success and partner with the vice president of development to lead the medical school's philanthropic efforts to strengthen its academic excellence and its human and physical resources.
The university is at an exciting time in its evolution: it has a highly successful and charismatic president, a dean of the medical school whose leadership is enthusiastically embraced, and a new vice president for development with plans for an ambitious $200 million comprehensive campaign. The new associate vice president will have numerous exciting and transformational medical initiatives that will attract philanthropic support for the College; including naming opportunities for endowments, buildings, and the medical school itself.
We are seeking an AVP who can play a central role in campaign and major gift fund raising, grateful patient philanthropy and contribute to the enhancement of annual support. The new AVP will also engage in corporate and foundation fund raising and will have supervisory responsibilities for the major gifts professionals in the College of Medicine.
The successful candidate will have ten or more years of experience in comprehensive fundraising in a development program, preferably in an educational institution, an academic medical center or a health sciences center where he/she has focused on major and campaign gifts. A bachelor's degree is required and an advanced degree is highly desirable.
