Vice President for Enrollment Managment

Brooklyn College seeks an innovative, forward-thinking, collaborative, and highly experienced enrollment professional to serve as vice president for enrollment management (VPEM). Reporting directly to newly-appointed President Karen L. Gould, the VPEM provides senior leadership and strategic direction for a comprehensive enrollment management strategy that is aggressive, responsive to new trends and markets, and consistent with the goals, mission, and resources of the college.
Viewed as a central college priority, Enrollment Management enjoys significant support from Brooklyn's new president and provost, as well as from key college leadership, faculty, current students, and alumni. The new VPEM is expected to capitalize on this support with vigor, innovation, an inclusive leadership style, exceptional communication skills, and informed judgment.
The VPEM bears responsibility for the full range of enrollment management, including recruiting, graduate-level application processing (CUNY handles undergraduate application processing centrally), financial aid (CUNY handles packaging centrally), continuing education, the registrar's office, and a staff of 122 FTEs across nine offices, with an operating budget of $5 million. Over $60 million in federal, state, and municipal financial aid is awarded to Brooklyn College students each year. The VPEM is expected to work closely with the Office of the Provost and the Office of Student Affairs. The VPEM sits on the president's cabinet and is a member of the senior leadership team of the college.

QUALIFICATIONS: A Master's degree is required, doctorate highly preferred. A minimum of ten years of relevant experience and progressively increasing responsibility in more than one area of enrollment management is expected. He or she must possess outstanding communication skills, knowledge of student market trends, a demonstrated ability to use creative and strategic thinking, and the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and other members of the college community.
Salary is competitive and dependent upon experience. Anticipated start date is June 1, 2010.
