John Carroll University seeks nominations for and expressions of interest in the position of Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.

Located on an attractive, 60-acre, tree-lined campus in the suburban "Heights" area of Cleveland, Ohio, John Carroll University is a liberal arts university committed to academic excellence in the Jesuit Catholic tradition. The College of Arts and Sciences supports 16 departments that offer over 30 undergraduate programs, exciting new interdisciplinary initiatives, and over 20 graduate degree programs in 12 departments including M. Ed. programs in teaching, administration, and counseling, and M.A. or M.S. programs in selected liberal arts disciplines. The College has 165 full-time faculty lines and budgets totaling $20 Million. The Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences reports directly to the Academic Vice President along with the Dean of the Boler School, JCU's AACSB-accredited business school, and is a member of the AVP's leadership team. The Dean serves as the chief academic officer of the College and is responsible for all day to day activities of the College including curriculum development, faculty recruitment and evaluation, planning, and budget. Working collaboratively with faculty and administration, the Dean is also responsible for advancing the strategic goals of the University as a whole. Having recently launched a new academic planning process, the University seeks a new Dean with the vision, leadership ability, collaborative decision making style, and communication and relationship building skills to play a seminal role in building on the College's strengths and leading initiatives that will move the College forward. For full consideration, candidates must qualify for appointment as a tenured full professor in the College of Arts and Sciences.
