Opportunity Enterprises (OE) is widely recognized as one of the state's foremost providers of services for people with disabilities. For more than forty years, OE has provided services to challenged individuals of all ages, whether they have physical, emotional, and/or developmental disabilities. Today, 1000 individuals are served in Porter County and throughout Northwest Indiana. Services offered include a vast multitude of programs, including early intervention for children and transition to life after high school for secondary students. For adults, they provides residential services, industrial assembly work, art instruction, assistive technology, massage, community job placement, transportation and a day program for disabled senior citizens.
The President/CEO is responsible for the overall leadership of Opportunity Enterprises and is the organization's leader, advocate and a spokesperson. The President/CEO collaborates with the Board of Directors to determine Opportunity Enterprises' foremost strategic challenges and implements the plans and policies to address them. Additionally, the President/CEO is a strong supporter of Opportunity Enterprises' philanthropic goals which support the organization's mission directed activities. The President/CEO reports to the Board of Directors, which is comprised of 15 members and will supervise a team of approximately 300 and a $13million budget.
The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree, business acumen and background/knowledge/ strong interest in people with disabilities. Ideally this person will also have a demonstrated track record of success as the leader of a complex organization with multiple locations.
