Jon Derek Croteau, Ed.D.,
based in the firm's Boston office, conducts executive searches for Witt/Kieffer's education practice. Jon has a depth of knowledge in human capital management, recruitment, retention and advancement. He has been pivotal in helping higher education institutions not only define, but achieve their organizational goals.
Jon most recently held the positions of assistant vice president for campaign planning and operations and assistant vice president for advancement services/director of organizational development and human capital management at Carnegie Mellon University. In the division, Jon oversaw expansive growth and was responsible for placing several key executives and numerous staff. There, Jon was an adjunct professor at the Heinz School for Public Policy and Management and served on the President's Diversity Advisory Council. He has published and presented materials on topics relevant to the education industry, including educational advancement and human capital management. He is currently writing a book called, The People-First Approach, a guide for education and nonprofit leaders to build human capital management programs. In addition, he is on the Executive Committee of Emerson College's Alumni Board of Directors, a member of Council for Advancement and Support of Education, and serves as a mentor for Point Foundation.
