From its inception as a 100-bed hospital in 1967, Boca Raton Community Hospital (BRCH) has grown to become one of the most respected healthcare delivery organizations in South Florida. With over 750 physicians and net revenues in excess of $260 million, BRCH provides a full continuum of healthcare services to its community.

Building on this 40-year history, BRCH has initiated major forays into cardiovascular care, with the opening of the Christine E. Lynn Cardiovascular Institute this fall, and oncology with the development of the Lynn Regional Cancer Center set to open in 2008. BRCH is now poised to launch a new effort that will transform the state of healthcare in Florida. With their partners, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and Florida Atlantic University, BRCH will develop a 530-bed teaching hospital, scheduled to open in 2011.

The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Boca Raton Community Hospital reports directly to the Senior Vice President / Chief Operating Officer of BRCH and is a key member on the senior leadership team. The CMO will lead and have oversight of medical affairs. The position attends senior leadership, Board of Trustees and medical staff meetings. The CMO assists in matters pertaining to JCAHO, regulatory, accrediting, safety, physician recruitment, clinical informatics and compliance issues; collaborates with the medical staff on appropriate documentation and coding of medical records; and, facilitates standardization of care and processes across the medical center.

Requirements include an M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school and board certification in a clinical discipline as well as experience in a physician executive role within a community hospital, teaching hospital or large physician practice.
