Director of PM&R at Children's and Division Chief/Pediatric PM&R at the University of Washington SOM
Seattle, WA

Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center (Children's), Seattle, Washington, together with the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the University of Washington School of Medicine (UWSOM), seek a Director of PM&R at Children's and Division Chief/Pediatric PM&R at the University of Washington School of Medicine to succeed Dr. Kenneth Jaffe.

Children's provides a continuum of health services for children, adolescents and their families throughout the Pacific Northwest. Children's has 250 inpatient beds and over 300 physicians in 60 pediatric subspecialties. The Department of PM&R includes the divisions of occupational therapy, speech and language sciences, physical therapy and rehabilitation psychology. The department inpatient care is provided in a new 12-bed unit, which is CARF certified and outpatient services are offered through the Rehabilitation Medicine Clinic and other subspecialty clinics. As the regional leader in pediatric rehabilitation, Children's receives patients from the WWAMI Region (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho).

The Director/Division Chief of PM&R will have responsibility for providing vision, leadership and direction to the Department/Division of PM&R that includes further growth of the clinical base and expansion of research activity.

The successful candidate must demonstrate appropriate management experience to provide direction to the operations of the pediatric PM&R department/division for inpatient, outpatient, research and teaching efforts. Candidates should also have demonstrated abilities in program development, excellence in patient care and a reputation for supporting nationally recognized research. Candidates should also have a record of working collaboratively with hospital and school of medicine leadership. Experience in attracting and recruiting faculty is highly desirable. Candidates must be board certified in PM&R and have advanced training or experience in pediatric rehabilitation. Pediatric board certification or pediatric fellowship is a strong plus.
