Associate Medical Director

LifeSource, Chicagoland's Blood Center, is the largest blood center in Illinois and one of the largest blood centers in the country. LifeSource supplies blood and blood products to 94% of Chicago's hospitals providing more than 585,000 blood products annually to meet the needs of more than 60 hospitals, including nine Level 1 Trauma Centers. LifeSource also collects stem cells for transplantation for most of the hospitals in the city, has a cord blood bank to collect (from area hospitals) and store cord blood stem cells for transplantation and is one of only six centers nationwide to partner with the National Marrow Donor Program. The Associate Medical Director will report to the Medical Director and will work collaboratively with the Medical Director of LifeSource in all of the operations of the blood bank and centralized donor-testing laboratory.
Candidates must be an MD/DO who is board certified in an accredited ACGME specialty and eligible for licensure in the state of Illinois. Board certification in transfusion medicine is preferred. The candidate should be eligible for faculty appointment with a university in Chicago.
