Witt/Kieffer, Ford, Hadelman & Lloyd has been engaged by The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA) to assist in the recruitment of Physician-in-Chief of the Cancer Therapy and Research Center (CTRC). The Cancer Therapy and Research Center was established in 1974 and has operated as an independent, not-for-profit multidisciplinary cancer center for over thirty years and has had over a million patient visits since 1974. The CTRC and its key research division, The Institute for Drug Development (IDD), have recently merged with UTHSCSA and comprise an NCI-designated Cancer Center.
The Physician-in-Chief will be responsible for the growth and optimization of the clinical operations; integration of the clinics in to a multidisciplinary entity; coordination with clinical leaders to develop a recruitment plan; and will assist leadership in the fiscal and managerial administration of all clinical operations of the CTRC, including medical, surgical and radiation oncology.
The ideal candidate for Physician-in-Chief of CTRC will be an M.D. with board certification/eligibility in internal medicine and a cancer specialty, a Texas medical license or be license eligible, and seven to ten years of experience within an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.
