VICE PRESIDENT, FACILITIES
Springfield, IL

Memorial Health System (MHS) of Springfield, Illinois, is seeking a senior executive to serve as Vice President, Facilities (VPF).

MHS is a one-billion dollar, award-winning health system based in Springfield, the capital of Illinois, population 125,000, with a regional drawing area of one million. Springfield is a quaternary healthcare market two hours from St. Louis, and one of the largest single markets in the state. The system's multiple entities include the flagship Memorial Hospital, Springfield, a 600-bed, quaternary teaching institution, and two community hospitals in Lincoln (25 beds) and Taylorville (75 beds).

Reporting to the MHS COO, the VPF will serve as lead executive over facilities and master planning, facilities development, construction management, plant operations, maintenance, real estate property development, property management, facilities project management, security and laundry. The VPF provides leadership for departments of Engineering and Facilities Management for all MHS entities.

Major MHS planning and capital improvement initiatives include a master facility plan, complete renovation of all patient rooms at Memorial, a $50 million replacement hospital, and $27 million in OR/MOB new construction; among other projects.

MHS is seeking a seasoned leader with appropriate healthcare facilities experience at the executive level. The position requires outstanding skills in working as a team member along side the broader executive team in providing strategic and progressive leadership of facilities development that will allow MHS to meet patient needs into the future. The ideal candidate is a broad and strategic thinker, excellent leader and developer of people, forward thinking and creative individual with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and an excellent facilitator who is experienced in working with diverse project teams including outside contractors.

The position requires relevant experience in a broad facilities management and planning role in a tertiary setting; relevant undergraduate and graduate education required and at least 5-10 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
