Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport (LSUHSC-S) is seeking candidates for the position of CHANCELLOR. Reporting directly to the President of the LSU system, the Chancellor will oversee the School of Medicine, the School of Graduate Studies,
the School of Allied Health, and the three hospitals that comprise the health sciences center: the LSU Hospital in Shreveport, E.A. Conway Medical Center in Monroe, and Huey P. Long Medical Center in Pineville.
Candidates must have an earned doctoral degree with proven scholarship and accomplishment in a health sciences discipline. The successful candidate must be a visionary leader and possess leadership skills to further grow and develop a complex, multifaceted health system. Also essential are strategic thinking, financial acumen, and personal/communication skills to deal with internal and external constituencies.
Shreveport-Bossier City has a population of over 380,000, is economically strong and offers a richness of life, combining the conveniences of a big city with the warmth and hospitality of a smaller town. The area's mild climate and beautiful parks create opportunities for multiple outdoors activities.
