Greenville Hospital System University Medical Center, located in Greenville, South Carolina, seeks a new executive to administer and coordinate surgical services system-wide. The system has 1,146 beds, more than 1,000 affiliated medical staff, and 7,700 employees. One of the largest health systems in the Southeast and the only academic medical center in the Upstate, the system includes five medical campuses: Greenville Memorial, Greer, North Greenville, Patewood and Simpsonville. Recent honors for the system include being named one of the top 100 integrated healthcare networks, top 50 teaching hospitals, and 10 best-led hospitals.

Reporting to the President of Greenville Memorial Medical Center, Suzanne White, this executive is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating effective patient care delivery systems for perioperative/GI services and will be accountable for maintaining the highest levels of patient care services, customer satisfaction, physician alignment, and financial results. This is a newly created position and speaks to the emphasis on surgery as this complex medical center evolves into a major academic medical center affiliated with the Medical School at the University of South Carolina. There are many exciting opportunities for this executive including establishing a new vision for surgical services, improving overall nursing, physician, and patient satisfaction, and reinforcing the health system's values within surgical services.

The successful candidate will possess a superb record of accomplishments in healthcare system environments including at least five years of progressive experience in service line management and a deep understanding of surgical services. Someone with an understanding of information technology at a high level is preferred. A graduate degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or nursing is required.
