Witt/Kieffer has been retained by Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, MD, the largest community hospital in the State of Maryland, to recruit for a Vice President, Human Resources. A member of Trinity Health System, Holy Cross is a 450-bed community teaching hospital with 3,200 employees. The hospital has been the "first" hospital in the area to offer sophisticated services and state-of-the-art technology, including having the first MRI unit, neonatal intensive care unit, and DaVinci Robot among others. As a community hospital, Holy Cross reaches out in a variety of ways to improve the health status of the community it serves in the Maryland suburbs and Washington, DC.
The VPHR will report to the CEO of Holy Cross Hospital and as a key member of the senior management team, will have overall responsibility for leading the entire human resources function for the organization. The VPHR will have a significant leadership role in developing human resource strategies for the organization and facilitating creative, evidence-based human resource approaches, fostering diversity, and continuing to develop and nurture an employee-oriented culture. The VPHR will enhance the extent to which HR is viewed as responsive, customer-oriented and accessible and will help to make Holy Cross a national leader in managing within a diverse community, particularly by creating a broadly based culturally sensitive and highly productive workforce. Overall, this is a tremendous human resources leadership role with a growing, sizable community provider in a major healthcare market.
We seek a creative, bright, senior-level human resources professional with strong generalist skills and experience in a demographically diverse market. Bachelor's Degree is required and a Master's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Health Administration or related field is preferred. Minimum of eight years senior level human resources management experience required. Bi-lingual skills would be an asset. Candidates should be empowering and personable with the ability to anticipate issues and communicate proactively. While experience in healthcare may be helpful, candidates with experience with service-oriented organizations are encouraged to apply.
