Witt/Kieffer has been retained to identify and evaluate candidates for the position of Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer (SVP/CIO) for Catholic Health Initiatives in Denver, Colorado.
Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) is a national non-profit health system based in Denver, Colorado. The system includes 77 hospitals; 40 long-term care, assisted and independent living and residential facilities; and two community-based health organizations located in 26 states. CHI represents approximately 68,000 full- and part-time employees; with total revenues of $7.7 billion. CHI is the second largest Catholic health system in the United States and thrives on their vision of Catholic health care as a vibrant ministry, ready to provide compassionate care of the body, mind and spirit through the 21st century and beyond.
CHI employs over 700 people in Denver, Colorado and many others in their market-based organizations and hospitals dedicated to information technology. IT is guided and directed by the Information Management Advisory Council. In 2006 a study was conducted to assess the real and perceived value of the IT organization to CHI and its customers. The outgrowth of that study is the creation of ONE IT which is a reorganization of the team from a de-centralized model to a more disciplined structure, which includes placing all the IT employees on one payroll and having one overarching strategy to guide the organization.
The SVP/CIO will report to the Executive Vice President Integrated Systems/Chief Financial Officer. As a member of the senior management team, the SVP/CIO will be responsible for all aspects of CHI's enterprise IT function. The SVP/CIO will provide the overall strategy and leadership for all information systems initiatives and ensure the ONE IT structure supports the organization's overall growth strategy and mission. The SVP/CIO will establish a proactive, collaborative, transparent service oriented information systems organization.
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, or significant experience in Information Systems field is required. CHI seeks a seasoned executive in a senior information systems leadership position such as a CIO. A master's degree and healthcare experience is preferred. The SVP/CIO must be a strategic leader who is collaborative and team oriented and has demonstrated experience working effectively within dynamic and complex environments.
