Witt Kieffer has been engaged by Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville, Indiana, to assist them in finding a CEO to replace their retiring CEO. Although a Critical Access Hospital, Margaret Mary is a unique health care provider with over 50 physicians, a high quality of care, strong profitability, and the challenges of near-by highly-competitive Cincinnati. The Batesville community, home of the Hillenbrand industries (Batesville Casket and Hill-Rom), provides the opportunities of small town living with the very close proximity of a major metro area.
The successful candidate will be comfortable with and actively seek to work in a smaller community. The ideal candidate will be experienced with physician recruitment, physician contracting and joint ventures, and small physician office practice issues. He/she will have marketing acumen and know how to raise the awareness level of the hospital within the community. The new CEO will be knowledgeable about the value of personal presence in achieving this goal.
The preferred candidate will have prior CEO experience, most likely come from small town roots, and have a clear sense of vision about the future of healthcare. He/she will help lead this highly successful organization into the future, assisting the organization in making critical strategic decisions about physician partnering, physician recruitment, service provision, quality, financial strength, and operations excellence.
