Vice President of Revenue Cycle

Cooper Health of Camden, New Jersey - the leading provider of comprehensive health services, medical education and clinical research in Southern New Jersey and the Delaware Valley - has engaged Witt/Kieffer to assist them in recruiting a Vice President of Revenue Cycle. Reporting to the system CFO, the Vice President of Revenue Cycle will oversee the entire revenue cycle process for Cooper Health including Cooper University Hospital and Cooper's owned physician practice network.
Cooper University Hospital is the clinical campus of the University of Medicine and Dentistry/ Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and is dedicated to medical education and research excellence. The system employs more than 400 physicians, and University Physicians-Cooper, the teaching faculty of UMDNJ/RWJMS, maintains more than 50 office sites throughout southern New Jersey. Cooper is the market share leader in Southern New Jersey and its name is synonymous with a full range of health system services - including prevention, primary care, specialty ambulatory services, all levels of inpatient care and sub-acute care. The combined system entities generate excess revenue over expenses of more than $30M on total net revenue of over $600M. The system maintains more than 100 days cash on hand, and across the past two years has driven days in A/R to below forty.
The candidate ultimately selected to serve as Vice President of Revenue Cycle will be required to hit the ground running, help Cooper maintain its sterling record of success, and exact further gains and efficiencies from a clockwork revenue operation.
The ideal candidate will bring:
- A strong track record of success in operationalizing the capture of cash for the organizations they have served.
- "Revenue cycle fluency" on both the hospital and physician sides of the enterprise.
- An appreciation for the role of cash in meeting the organizations larger strategic challenges.
- Most critical will be strong relationship acumen.
