Medical College of Georgia Health, Inc. in Augusta, Georgia seeks applications and nominations for the position of Vice President for Human Resources.
MCG Health, Inc. (MCGHI) is the not-for-profit corporation that manages MCG Hospitals and Clinics, the main teaching site for Medical College of Georgia. From 1956 to 2000, the Hospitals and Clinics were operated as a division of MCG. On July 1, 2000, the assets of MCG Hospitals and Clinics were transferred to MCGHI.
The Hospital which is owned by the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia consists of 632 licensed acute-care beds, of which 154 beds are committed to the Children's Medical Center, and related outpatient care facilities. The medical staff includes 494 faculty physicians of which 100% are board certified or board eligible. Gross patient revenues for the health system are $796,070,499.
The Vice President for Human Resources (VPHR) is responsible for providing a comprehensive program of Human Resources at MCGHI. Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, Don Snell, the VPHR serves as a strategic business partner with the senior leadership of the health system in the development and implementation of organizational strategies, programs and Human Resources plans to ensure the cost effective management and delivery of health system services. The VPHR will advise and partner with the senior management team concerning a variety of organizational initiatives around people as a strategic and competitive resource and participate in the ongoing development and implementation of the vision and strategy for the system. This executive partners with the leadership team to translate strategic priorities into entity-level operating plans to include: working with managers across MCGHI to ensure that the right people are in the right jobs; that they are competent and motivated to do the right things for MCGHI patients, employees and other key stakeholders; that they have the right tools and support; and that all of the above happens in a cost effective manner.
The successful candidate must have a graduate degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Human Resources or a related discipline, and an outstanding record of achievement with 10 years of experience in a human resources leadership position. An established track record in a senior human resources position in a complex health system in a competitive market is preferred.
