Hartford Healthcare Corporation (HHCC) seeks a Senior Vice President, Chief Medical Officer (SVP, CMO) with an outstanding track record to join this growing system as it embarks on an aggressive growth and development strategy. The SVP, CMO position is a newly created role within the senior leadership team at HHCC and will report directly to the CEO.

HHCC is one of the nation's premier health delivery systems and finest community teaching hospitals, operating a network of healthcare organizations including Hartford Hospital (HH), an 819 bed major community teaching hospital, and generating system-wide revenues in excess of $1 billion. The hospital has received multiple recognitions for excellence including "Top 100" hospital status and nursing's most prestigious award, Magnet designation. In addition to Hartford Hospital, HHCC also operates two successful, smaller community hospitals, and has a full spectrum of wholly owned and strategic affiliates that provide a complete continuum of care to the greater Hartford community. The ideal candidate will be an architect and a builder, who will not only establish this role but also work with physician and hospital leadership to enhance medical staff operations and quality. The SVP, CMO will be a primary driver in continuing to move the quality agenda to the next level throughout the system, helping to identify infrastructure needs to appropriately and fully implement the program. He/she will work closely with medical staff leaders throughout the system in assuring consistency at the highest level and in achieving quality outcomes that will become the standard for Hartford Healthcare Corporation.

The ideal candidate will be a physician with a track record of success as a practitioner and a capable administrator and thought leader in complex hospital or healthcare delivery system. Demonstrable leadership achievement is needed in clinical performance improvement, medical management functions, clinical quality and physician leadership development and education. Candidates will have a Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited institution; completion of a Masters Degree program in Health Administration or Business Administration, or Certificate in Healthcare Management is preferred. Board certification is required.
