Witt/Kieffer has been engaged to assist The Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) in recruiting its new President and Chief Executive Officer. Through its program of certification, the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG®) assesses the readiness of international medical graduates to enter residency or fellowship programs in the United States that are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). ECFMG certification is also a prerequisite required by all states for an unrestricted license to practice in the U.S.

The President maintains and directs ECFMG's day-to-day operations, overseeing all personnel, financial, and other managerial activities. The President serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER). He/she works closely with the President of FAIMER to ensure that all FAIMER goals and operations are properly implemented and fulfilled.

The President reports to the Board of Trustees of ECFMG and must provide for the effective operation of ECFMG within the framework of its bylaws. The President serves as a voting member of the Board of Trustees and Executive Committee and as an ex officio member of all committees of the Board, including: Executive Committee, Finance and Audit Committee, Medical Education Credentials Committee, Personnel Practices Committee, and Planning and Development Committee.

The ideal candidate will have an M.D. degree or its international equivalent and will possess strong medical education credentials, knowledge of and experience with programs of medical education at the undergraduate and graduate levels as well as evaluation and assessment methods, standard setting and accreditation processes. Candidates who are themselves International Medical Graduates (IMGs) will be welcomed.
