Job Description

Community Memorial Health System
Vice President, Centers for Family Health
Ventura, CA

The Community Memorial Health System (CMHS) is a not-for-profit healthcare organization governed by a self perpetuating community board serving the needs of residents of Ventura County, California. CMHS consists of two acute care hospitals, nine freestanding primary care clinics, as well as additional freestanding imaging centers and patient care programs. The hospitals within CMHS include the main facility, the 240-bed Community Memorial Hospital of San Buenaventura (CMH) and the 97-bed Ojai Valley Community Hospital (OVCH) in nearby Ojai, California. OVCH operates 67 of those beds in a skilled nursing format.

The system operates the Centers for Family Health, nine freestanding ambulatory care clinics located in various county locations to include: Ventura, Ojai, Oxnard, Santa Paula, and Fillmore that serve as sources of primary care and referrals to local physicians. The clinics are staffed by approximately 60 physicians and physician extenders who contract their services through an MSO relationship to CMH. Collectively, the Centers for Family Health currently care for 250,000 patients annually. The Centers for Family Health provide convenient access to the following medical specialties: Family Medicine; Internal Medicine; Obstetrics/Gynecology; Pediatrics; Dermatology; Cardiology; Urgent Care; Industrial Health; and Veteran's Primary Care.

The Vice President/Centers for Family Health reports to the Chief Operating Officer for CMHS and is responsible for all aspects of the operations of the various Centers for Family Health. He/she will be responsible for planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling the activities associated with the Centers for Family Health and its MSO resources and planning for the future growth and development of these innovative programs. Specifically, he/she will be responsible for the analysis, development, and oversight of the MSO and Foundation concepts as well as overseeing the physician recruitment activities and strategic planning for the physician/provider arm of the CMHS.

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration/MBA or equivalent and possess five to seven years experience, with particular recent experience in a group practice, IPA or MSO environment. He/she must be a team player and understand the complexities of today's healthcare environment and the operating requirements of a clinic or group practice environment.
