Great Plains Regional Medical Center (GPRMC) located in Elk City, Oklahoma, has retained Witt/Kieffer to assist in the recruitment of a Chief Nursing Officer. Elk City is a growing community of 11,000 people with a regional patient base of over 150,000 people. Elk City is located in Beckham County, approximately halfway between Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Amarillo, Texas. GPRMC is the largest provider of care in western Oklahoma and it is licensed for 82 beds and is staffed for approximately 66 beds.

The Chief Nursing Officer at GPRMC directs, coordinates and manages the nursing activities of the hospital on a daily basis and provides executive leadership to ensure goals and objectives are achieved on a timely basis. The CNO participates in the development of GPRMC policies and procedures, short- and long-range goals and objectives, capital and departmental budgets, community and physician relations, and ensures successful achievement of hospital/departmental operations. The CNO will also be expected to assist in the transition to the new replacement hospital. The position reports to the Chief Executive Officer of the hospital and is an integral part of the hospital's senior management team.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of seven years in a senior level management position with progressive responsibility in similar sized organizations. The qualified candidate will demonstrate proven competencies in the areas of clinical operations, nursing practices, patient care delivery, quality improvement, healthcare finance, human resources management and staff development, strategic management, marketing and information technology. A graduate degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or other appropriate advanced degrees is required.
