Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer
Fredericksburg, VA

Witt/Kieffer has been retained to identify and evaluate candidates for the position of Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer (SVPCIO) at MediCorp Health System in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

MediCorp Health System is a not-for-profit regional health system of 28 health care facilities and wellness services. For over 100 years, its mission has been to improve the health status of all the citizens of Fredericksburg and the surrounding counties. MediCorp is committed to its core values of respect, integrity, stewardship and excellence. Located in a vibrant and expanding region, MediCorp is experiencing rapid growth and is building a new hospital, Stafford Hospital Center, which is scheduled to open in February of 2009 and an urgent care mediplex in Massaponax, VA which is scheduled to open in April of 2009.

MediCorp Health System is currently comprised of its affiliates: Mary Washington Hospital, Mary Washington Hospital Foundation, Snowden Services, Inc., MediCorp Health Services, Hospice of Mary Washington, MediCorp Properties, and other joint ventures and community-based services. Over 45 medical specialties and 300+ area doctors and allied health professionals are represented on the medical staff.

As a member of the executive management team, the Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer will provide the technology vision and leadership for all information systems initiatives for MediCorp Health System. The SVPCIO will assess the current information systems organization and technology and will work with the senior management team to ensure an organizational structure, systems infrastructure, and business direction to guide future information technology investments in support MediCorp's mission, values and goals. The SVPCIO will be responsible for the following areas: Information Technology, Health Link - Telecomm/Communications, Health Information Management, and Medical Library. This position is strongly focused on developing and ensuring a high quality, transparent, service oriented IT organization.

Bachelor's degree is required with a preference for computer science, business or related area. Master's degree is strongly preferred in business, computer science, healthcare administration, or related field. MediCorp Health System seeks a seasoned executive in a senior IT leadership position such as a CIO or # 2 in a complex and dynamic healthcare organization. The CIO must be a strategic leader who has the ability to function effectively in a dynamic, rapidly growing environment. Demonstrated experience building and leading a service oriented information technology organization and experience in facilitating change is a must. Strong knowledge and experience with the implementation and utilization of advanced clinical systems is essential.
