Miami Children's Hospital is a 289 bed, free-standing children's hospital providing acute medical and psychiatric services primarily to the South Florida market. The children's hospital is committed to its mission to provide excellent family centered health care to children in an academic environment that meets or exceeds the expectations of those they serve and educate. The health system employs over 2,700 individuals across the campuses. Over 650 physicians are members of the medical staff, with about 230 pediatric specialists in practices geographically based at the hospital. It operates one of the largest free-standing pediatric residencies in the nation with 68 house staff, and is fully accredited. The Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) is responsible for advising and monitoring the planning and implementation of clinical systems and performance improvement. The CMIO will serve as key advisor to senior leadership, physician leadership, the CIO and other IT staff with regard to physician issues and the impact that information technology has or may have on medical practices at MCH. The position will be responsible for recommending alterations and designs for clinical systems material that will effect quality and safety in patient care.

The CMIO should be a manager who is adaptable and has strong collaborative style, a creative thinker with high energy and enthusiasm, and a team player who promotes the concepts of people working together versus individual performance.
