Witt/Kieffer has been retained to identify and evaluate candidates for the position of Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) at JPS Health Network in Fort Worth, Texas.
Committed to improving the health of families and individuals in Tarrant County, JPS Health Network includes John Peter Smith Hospital, JPS Diagnostic & Surgery Hospital of Arlington, a network of community-based health centers and psychiatric services at Trinity Springs Pavilion. The facilities at 1500 South Main have grown to a hospital licensed for 459 beds along with a freestanding outpatient care center and a dedicated facility for psychiatric services. The new patient tower currently under construction across from John Peter Smith Hospital and the new hospital in Arlington take the organization into the next era. Partners Together For Health, the foundation for JPS Health Network, is responsible for all solicitations of assistance from such sources as the community, other foundations and grantor agencies.
The Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) is the medical officer providing leadership for the strategic planning, management, integration and implementation of clinical information systems and technology supporting the mission, values and goals of the District. The CMIO must have credibility in the eyes of the medical staff. He or she will actively involve clinicians as well as administration in the process of the development and execution of the information technology strategy. The qualified candidate will work with the Chief of Staff and the medical staff leadership in strategic planning, implementation, training, and follow up stages of clinical systems development. The CMIO will facilitate, promote and model a leadership philosophy and style consistent with the organization's dynamic, high demand, high quality environment.
A M.D. or D.O. degree is required with an informatics certification preferred. JPS is seeking a candidate that has consulting or performance improvement experience and is eligible and qualified to the licensing requirements of the Texas Medical Board. The ideal candidate should have recent successful experience working on implementing an electronic health record and computerized physician order entry system in a dynamic healthcare system
