Job Description

Hospital Sisters Health System Medical Group
Chief Financial Officer
Springfield, IL

Witt/Kieffer, the nation's largest executive search firm specializing in healthcare, has been retained by Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS), a progressive, not-for-profit healthcare system, to assist them in the recruitment of a newly created Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the HSHS Medical Group.

Launched in 2008, HSHS Medical Group is a growing network of primary care, multi-specialty and single specialty groups, as well as independent physicians located in Illinois and Wisconsin. The HSHS Medical Group is working alongside HSHS to create an integrated approach to care delivery and is a key element in the care integration strategy for the system. Care Integration will focus on enhancing the relationships between patients and providers through a seamless, integrated network of care.

The CFO for the Medical Group will be responsible for planning, organizing and directing all aspects of the financial, business office, and information technology operations of HSHS Medical Group. The CFO will be responsible for the coordination and administration of policies on finance, budgeting, accounting, systems development, internal controls, and maintenance of records and procedures to adequately safeguard the assets of the organization. He/she will serve as a member of the senior executive team and will work collaboratively with all of its members and the HSHS system leadership.

The ideal candidate is a finance executive with at least five years of experience in the health care industry, including direct accounting/finance experience in a medical group practice, as well as exposure to a centralized business office and physician contracting. We seek a highly-motivated, self starter; one who is visible and "hands on". The CFO will be a servant leader who empowers others, maintains a sense of humility and enjoys giving credit to others.
