The Marshfield Clinic is recruiting candidates for the position of Director, Agricultural Safety & Health Dairy Worker Research Program. Witt/Kieffer, an executive search firm specializing in healthcare and higher education, has been retained to assist in this important search.
Marshfield Clinic, located in Marshfield, Wisconsin, consists of 771 physicians in 80 medical specialties and subspecialties located in over 40 centers throughout northern, central and western Wisconsin; embracing nearly all of Wisconsin and much of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Marshfield Clinic is an academic campus of the University of Wisconsin School Of Medicine and Public Health (UWSMPH) and a major partner with UWSMPH in the NIH-awarded Clinical and Translational Science Award, the Institute for Clinical Translational Research.
The National Farm Medicine Center, one of five centers in the Marshfield Clinic Research Foundation, is putting into place an Agricultural Safety Program Leader to direct the implementation of a major, new endeavor. The Dairy Workers Safety and Health Initiative which is a partnership joining colleagues affiliated with University of Academy, and other organizations. Together they will identify, address, and resolve disease and injury concerns that impact the wellbeing of workers in Wisconsin's growing dairy industry.
The Director, Agricultural Safety & Health Dairy Worker Research Program will report to the Director of the National Farm Medicine Center. The Director, Agricultural Safety & Health will direct the planning and implementation of a new state-wide initiative aimed at improving the wellbeing of workers in Wisconsin's growing dairy industry. This Director will foster effective, multi-disciplinary Collaboration with program partners (UW-College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin, Wisconsin Dairyland State Academy, and others) to develop and implement a strategic plan including research, training, education and services aimed at sustaining a safe, healthy and productive labor force.
The successful nominee or applicant will be a PhD, MD, or DVM equivalent. This modified tenure track position offers a unique opportunity to apply one's expertise in administration, research and program development in building this initiative. The successful nominee should have demonstrated potential for developing a strong, consistent record of scientific accomplishments in discovery, publication, and receipt and management of extramural grants and contracts.
