Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, seeks an innovative and dynamic academic leader and clinician for the position, Division Director, Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care.
Jefferson Medical College, one of America's historic and highly rated medical schools, is one of three colleges at Thomas Jefferson University. Jefferson Medical College is closely affiliated with the highly regarded Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and Jefferson Health System, including the nationally recognized Wills Eye and Magee Rehabilitation Hospitals.
The Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine includes nine full-time faculty and twelve fellows in a three year program leading to eligibility for board certification pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine. The Division's clinical activities encompass a broad range of acute and chronic disorders of the lung as well as medical critical care. The Division Director will provide leadership in integrating clinical, educational, and research programs to promote a strong academic division. Reporting to the Chair/Department of Medicine, this physician leader will play a pivotal role in articulating a vision and plan that will result in this Division being viewed nationally as a leader in clinical care, education, and research.
Candidates must hold an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D., be board certified in pulmonary and critical care medicine and have the academic credentials for appointment to the faculty of Jefferson Medical College at the rank of Professor. We seek an outstanding academic leader and respected clinician and researcher with demonstrated ability to effectively manage, mentor and develop faculty and staff. Ideally, the candidate will have held leadership positions within a division of pulmonary and critical care, with demonstrated management skills. The successful candidate will be a persuasive communicator with strong interpersonal skills and have a track record of working collaboratively with hospital and medical school leadership.
