Senior Vice President, Community Health

JPS Health Network located in Ft. Worth, Texas has retained Witt/Kieffer to assist in the recruitment efforts for the Senior Vice President of Community Health. For more than 100 years, JPS Health Network (JPS) has stayed the course to improve the health of local communities, and in turn, improve the lives of the Tarrant County residents.
What started as a small hospital in downtown Fort Worth has now developed into an expansive health care system that has been listed in Modern Healthcare as one of the top 100 integrated health care networks in the nation. JPS is tax-supported and includes John Peter Smith Hospital, JPS Diagnostic & Surgery Hospital of Arlington, a network of 32 community-based health centers, school-based health centers, and psychiatric services at Trinity Springs Pavilion - a stand-alone facility.
A Level II trauma center, John Peter Smith Hospital is licensed for 567 beds and the Network as a whole has approximately 875,000 patient encounters per year, revenues in excess of $600 million and more than 4,000 employees. A new Patient Care Pavilion was recently completed and serves as a state-of-the-art emergency and acute care facility.
Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of JPS Health Network, the Senior Vice President of Community Health is responsible for the oversight and guidance of the ambulatory clinic and will serve as a strategic business partner to the Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer. The Senior Vice President works closely with the Chairman of Community Medicine of the University of North Texas Health Science Center, The Chairman of Family Medicine of John Peter Smith Physicians Group, and the Medical Director of Women's Ambulatory Services in the supervision of the family medicine residency training program and the fourteen clinic Medical Directors. The health system is the largest residency teaching provider in the county with 175 residents in 11 medical specialties. The Senior Vice President is responsible for six direct reports and 38 clinic sites.
We seek candidates with at least ten years of experience in hospital and ambulatory operations including support, ancillary and professional services, with a strong track record in progressively responsible managerial roles, preferably in a public and/or academic health care system. The success candidate should have academic, clinical and administrative experience in an academic medical center or integrated delivery system, in addition to, a demonstrated understanding of health care delivery, including strategy, business planning, and operations. Ideally the candidates should possess experience and a proven track record as a CEO in a smaller organization or as a COO in a larger organization.
