President, Fairview Medical Group
FHS, a world-class integrated academic medical health system is comprised of 22,000 employees, seven hospitals, 48 primary care sites and many specialty clinics throughout the state. In addition, the system includes senior and long-term care facilities, retail pharmacies and rehabilitation centers, counseling and home health care programs.
The new president will be charged with driving the creation of a large physician group that manages patient populations, aligning the group with those physicians integrated formally into the health system and those that may remain as independent practitioners, moving towards a market-based focus and cohesion between geographically dispersed practitioners. He/she will strategically lead this multispecialty group further down the continuum of a unified group practice, with accountability for the clinical, operational and financial components of the $400 million budget group practice.
The new president will create an infrastructure that will drive the coordination of care across the delivery system and achieve results measured against Fairview's four strategic goals: clinical quality, patient satisfaction, effective and efficient use of resources and strategic growth. He/she will partner with leaders of the entire care continuum to identify and resolve issues around access to care and variation of practice and outcomes while developing and mentoring the physician executive leadership of the future.
The successful candidate must be a physician with appropriate board certification, ten years practice and five years administrative experience in a large, complex setting, preferably with an academic overlay. In addition, the ideal candidate will have a track record of success in innovative change management in an evolving framework; creating positive momentum and engaging multiple constituencies in the attainment of multi-faceted, interwoven strategic goals.
