Vice President/Chief Information Officer

Witt/Kieffer has been retained to conduct the search for the Vice President/Chief Information Officer (VP/CIO), a key member of the senior management team, for East Jefferson General Hospital (EJGH) in Metairie, LA.
Opened in 1971, EJGH now encompasses 450 beds, 3,000 team members, 700 medical staff members, and a large emergency and outpatient services operation. In 2002, EJGH was the first Louisiana hospital to attain Nurse Magnet status, and the hospital is also noted for its Cardiovascular, Rehabilitation, Oncology, and Woman & Child services.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and seasoned IT executive to bring visionary leadership and strong operational management to this organization. The successful candidate will be an effective communicator, a strong negotiator, and a solid relationship builder. This is a role for someone who is comfortable with ambiguity, self-confident, and decisive. Critical success factors for the new VP/CIO will be to effectively address immediate disaster recovery and access security concerns, resolve issues relating to the current outsourcing contract, and develop a long-range strategy for delivering cost-effective and highly responsive IT services to the organization.
A bachelor's degree is required; master's degree is preferred, and at least 10 years of progressively responsible healthcare IT management experience is sought. Expertise in IT outsourcing, remote hosting, and CPOE implementation leadership are highly desired.
