Jewish Community Housing for the Elderly
Chief Executive Officer
Brighton, MA

Jewish Community Housing for the Elderly (JCHE) in Brighton, Massachusetts is a $19.9 million annual revenue nonprofit multi-site senior housing organization. Established in 1965, JCHE is among the most respected low-income subsidized independent senior housing networks in the Northeast and is one of the largest housing enterprises of its kind in Massachusetts. JCHE today is a 1050-apartment, 5-building network in Brighton and Newton, MA providing 1300 older adult residents with high-quality subsidized independent senior housing and support services. JCHE is currently developing a new state-of-the-art 150-unit low-income and market-rate housing community in Framingham, MA, expanding JCHE's enterprise in the Greater Boston area to a 6-building network. JCHE has enjoyed a long and important relationship with the Jewish community in the Greater Boston region and receives volunteer and financial support from a wide range of individuals, community agencies, foundations and advocacy organizations in the Jewish community, and from the general community at large.

JCHE has distinguished itself for the support services it provides the elderly across its network of housing communities. Among its innovative services is CaringChoices, which offers tenants case management, personal care, escorts, meals, medication reminders and homemaking services; Generations Together, an intergenerational program that offers tenants an opportunity to connect with young people; the Adult Day Program, offered in collaboration with another respected nonprofit senior living organization in Boston; as well as health, wellness and educational programs; fitness centers, computer centers and libraries; and dining programs.

The Chief Executive Officer will possess affordable housing and senior services leadership expertise, as well as real estate development, financing and multi-site management experience. The CEO will significantly advance the work of JCHE in managing more high-quality low-income affordable housing with increasingly enriched supportive services to meet the growing needs of the elderly population in Massachusetts.

This professional will lead the board and management team in establishing the new Shillman House community, developing a wider array of supportive services in JCHE housing, and producing new sources of revenue via additional service offerings and fund raising. This professional will be a persuasive advocate with policy makers regarding housing decisions which directly impact the elderly. A Bachelor's is required; a Master's is preferred.

Please send candidate nominations or expressions of personal interest to Kathleen M. Gillespie, Partner and Senior Care, Housing & Community-Based Services Practice Leader, Witt/Kieffer, 2015 Spring Road, Suite 510, Oak Brook, IL 60523 --- we encourage direct communiqués via cell phone at 630.215.9631 or via email: KathG@wittkieffer.com
