Witt/Kieffer has been engaged to conduct the search for the Chief Information Officer at Memorial Health System in Colorado Springs, CO. Colorado Springs is located approximately 70 miles south of Denver at the base of scenic Pikes Peak in the Front Range region of Colorado. Money Magazine rated the city as "Best Big City in the nation to live and work" in its August 2006 issue.

Memorial Health System has 4,300 employees and operates two general acute care hospitals as well as a children's hospital. Memorial Hospital Central is licensed for 616 beds and includes the Memorial Hospital for Children, in partnership with The Children's Hospital (based in Denver). Memorial Hospital North opened in 2007 and is licensed for 98 beds. The system also operates more than a dozen outpatient facilities throughout the community. Memorial has received many accolades, including recognition as the #1 Heart Program in Colorado and in the Top 5% in the nation by Health Grades in 2008. Net operating revenue for the system in 2009 is expected to be over 700 million dollars.

The Chief Information Officer will report to the system CEO and will be expected to champion Memorial's focus on safe, patient-centered flow as well as operational performance, while helping to provide the underlying technology, systems and analytical tools that will align the efforts of the organization and his/her executive teammates. The qualified candidate should have at least seven years healthcare IT management experience in a large, complex medical center or related healthcare setting in a competitive market.
