Witt/Kieffer has been retained to identify and evaluate candidates for the position of Vice President & Chief Information Officer at Canton-Potsdam Hospital located in Potsdam, New York.

Canton-Potsdam Hospital (CPH) is a not-for-profit, community healthcare organization that is on the rise and poised for significant growth. CPH provides comprehensive acute medical-surgical care and emergency care, and has widely recognized programs in chemical dependency treatment, cardiac care, obstetrics, and physical rehabilitation services. It consists of state-of-the- art facilities and is driven by a culture of excellence that is dedicated to providing high quality care. CPH's main hospital campus is located in Potsdam with a number of hospital service locations in St. Lawrence County. The medical staff of sixty-one physicians includes specialists in twenty-three areas, including nine surgical specialties. In total, CPH hosts 175,000 patient visits annually.

The Vice President & Chief Information Officer (VP/CIO) is a great opportunity to be part of a progressive and growing healthcare organization with a vision to become the finest rural hospital in the state of New York and the model for how healthcare is delivered in rural community hospitals across the United States. The VP/CIO will report to the President and CEO of Canton-Potsdam Hospital and will be an active and inclusive member of the senior leadership team. The VP/CIO will be responsible for developing the vision and setting the strategic direction for IT and creating a high performing, customer service oriented IT organization. The VP/CIO will be responsible for effectively leading CPH through organizational change by successfully deploying an integrated electronic medical record.

A bachelor's degree is required; a master's degree is preferred. Canton-Potsdam Hospital seeks a seasoned IT executive in a senior information technology leadership position with progressively responsible healthcare management experience in a dynamic organization. The VP/CIO must be a visible, strategic IT professional that can bring visionary leadership and strong operational management to this organization. Experience building solid, trusting physician relationships is essential. The VP/CIO will have experience overseeing major system implementations, such as EMR and CPOE.
