Job Description
El Paso Children's Hospital
Chief Executive Officer
El Paso, TX
During one of the most exciting times within the history of children's healthcare in El Paso Witt/Kieffer has been retained by the Board of Directors of El Paso Children's Hospital (EPCH) to conduct a national search for the newly created position of Chief Executive Officer.
The realization of a new children's hospital in El Paso, the largest city in the nation without one, was celebrated during the official groundbreaking on February 16, 2009. The new facility is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2011. This groundbreaking is the result of the citizens of El Paso voting in November of 2007 to approve a $120 million initiative to build an independent children's hospital. Coupled with the recent approval by the Texas State Legislative to establish and fund a four-year campus of the Texas Tech University School of Medicine in El Paso, EPCH represents one of the largest health care expansions in the history of El Paso.
The new hospital will include a comprehensive range of pediatric services that are offered at the leading children's hospitals across the country. The construction will consist of a 224,500 square foot hospital including pediatric surgery operating rooms, a bed tower with sixty pediatric private rooms, twenty pediatric intensive care and fifty neonatal intensive care beds, outpatient and inpatient imaging, pediatric rehabilitation and ancillary services.
This is an outstanding career move for an accomplished healthcare executive who thrives on the challenges/opportunities associated with opening and operating a new children's hospital. The ideal candidate will have the following credentials/experience:
- Masters degree in Health Care Administration or Business Administration;
- Ten years or more years of progressively responsible healthcare administration experience which includes five years of experience with a hospital or health care delivery system at an executive level;
- Knowledge of the issues/challenges experienced by children's hospitals;
- A passion for pediatric care and an appreciation for the unique healthcare needs of border communities.
All discussions about this search will be handled in strict confidence. For additional information regarding this opportunity please contact:
