Chief, Hematology/Oncology
Boston, MA

Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center- Boston, Massachusetts a freestanding 128 bed comprehensive, full service pediatric hospital is pleased to announce a national search for the new Chief, Hematology & Oncology. Tufts Medical Center and Floating Hospital for Children serve as the principal teaching hospitals for Tufts University School of Medicine. All physicians at Tufts Medical Center and Floating Hospital for Children hold faculty appointments at Tufts University School of Medicine; your confidential recommendation of a colleague who is interested/qualified is welcome.

The Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center provides complete hematologic and oncologic services for children with blood disorders and malignant disease and has recently completed a ten million dollar renovation of the division facilities. Floating Hospital for Children is home to New England's second largest Pediatric Bone Transplant program and the new state-of-the art, Neely Bone Marrow Transplant Unit. The division is a full institutional member of the Children's Oncology Group (COG) and the National Cancer Institute, conducting ongoing research and serving as a major test center for new anti-cancer agents being released by the NCI.

The successful candidate will be a strong clinical and scientific leader who will promote and foster compassionate care, education and active clinical research. S/he will assure that compassionate care is patient/family focused and in accordance with the latest treatment modalities and will serve as the spokesperson for pediatric hematologic and cancer care on a local and regional basis. Candidates must be board certified in Pediatrics, Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and have been successful in clinical practice. The ideal candidate will possess previous administrative/leadership experience, strong interpersonal and communication skills and a collaborative management style. The candidate should qualify for appointment at the professor level at the Tufts University School of Medicine.
