Chief Executive Officer
Kearney, NE

Witt/Kieffer has been retained by Good Samaritan Hospital (GSH), (www.gshs.org) located in Kearney, Nebraska to assist them in the recruitment of a new Chief Executive Officer.

Founded in 1923, Good Samaritan Hospital is a well regarded, comprehensive 248-bed tertiary care facility and regional not-for-profit health care provider which serves as a major referral center for a service area of 340,000, covering central and western Nebraska and Northern Kansas. GSH is a member of Denver, Colorado-based Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI), among the largest healthcare systems in the country.

Known for its high quality care and profitability, Good Samaritan Hospital provides a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient services and over the years, has developed centers of excellence such as Nebraska Joint Replacement Center; Cardiovascular Services; The Good Samaritan Cancer Center; Level II Trauma Center and AirCare program; Family Birthing Center/NICU; the Back and Spine Institute; and Behavioral Health as well as a major TeleHealth program. The institution also owns and manages Richard H. Young Hospital, a 60-bed behavioral health facility that is the premier behavioral health center in the region. Good Samaritan Hospital has joint venture services such as Heartland Surgery Center and an imaging center located on the hospital campus.

The CEO of Good Samaritan is responsible for providing innovative leadership and strategic direction as well as overall operational management for GSH. The position reports to CHI's Senior Vice President and Group Executive Officer -Nebraska, and serves the Board of Directors of GSH.

The desired candidate will have a track record as a successful servant leader with a proven record of achieving results. The successful candidate will have solid experience as a CEO or COO, operating a complex hospital within a multi-unit healthcare system. Candidates will have proven leadership and relationship building ability and must be adept at developing strong partnerships with physicians, employees, board members, and community constituencies. A graduate degree in business, healthcare administration, or related discipline is required.
