HealthPlus of Michigan, Inc. has retained Witt/Kieffer to assist in the recruitment efforts for a Director of Underwriting in Flint, Michigan.

HealthPlus of Michigan (HPM) is a managed care organization serving more than 196,881 members in 13 mid-Michigan counties. HMP is a non-profit corporation, which is operating as a health maintenance organization (HMO). HealthPlus has earned a reputation as one of the top health plans in Michigan and across the nation, in terms of clinical quality and member satisfaction. US News and World Report, in conjunction with NCQA, rated the nation's best health plans in the Commercial, Medicare and Medicaid markets; HealthPlus was one of only seven plans nationally to be identified in each of the three markets. Today, HealthPlus is embarking on a growth strategy that includes both geographic expansion and new product offerings including a PPO option.

We are seeking a Senior Executive to be responsible for directing the functions of the Underwriting Department, including identification of premium rates sufficient to meet the company's business plans. This position provides the leadership, technical expertise, and data analyses to integrate financial and sales functions to successfully price various products.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years experience in underwriting or financial management, including two years experience in a leadership role. A Bachelor's degree is Finance or related field is required. Must have demonstrated experience in establishing adequate premium rates in a dynamic economic environment. The successful candidate will also have excellent oral and written communication skills, including presenting complex financial information to various audiences.

An executive level compensation plan, relocation and benefits package is offered.
