Diversity
- Witt/Kieffer values diversity and is committed to equal opportunity for all persons regardless of race, creed, color, religion, national origin, citizenship, age, sex, sexual orientation, disability, marital status, veteran status, or any other status protected by law. Witt/Kieffer complies with all EEOC requirements in its own hiring practices and in the practice of executive search and on behalf of all clients.
- In 2007, Witt/Kieffer released a study on Advancing Diversity Leadership in Health Care. The study, released in cooperation with the Institute for Diversity in Health Management, explores the business case for – and the extent to which healthcare organizations have embraced – cultural diversity at the executive level.
- We identify multicultural candidates from our proprietary database of over 5,200 diversity executives, and through outreach efforts to a wide variety of minority professional organizations. These include the National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE), the Association of Hispanic Healthcare Executives (AHHE), National Association of Black Accountants, National Black MBA Association, National Society for Hispanic Professionals/Association of Latino Professionals in Finance & Accounting, Hispanic MBA Association, Association for Women in Finance, American Woman’s Society of CPAs, and the Association of Chinese Finance Professionals.
- Nearly 40 percent of Witt/Kieffer’s executive
placements are women and minorities – arguably the best
diversity executive placement rate among top executive search firms
– and proof of our commitment to develop diverse slates of
candidates on behalf of our clients.
- Over the last five years, minority placements average nine percent of Witt/Kieffer’s total firm placements – and, overall, 33 percent of our placements are women.
- We present three times as many minority candidates to our clients
as those selected as the finalist.
- We’ve placed 72 minority candidates in presidential/CEO
positions.
- Forty-four percent of the firm’s partners are women.
- Fifty-two percent of the consulting staff are women.
- Women direct seven of 18 Witt/Kieffer offices.
- Three Witt/Kieffer board members are women.
- The New York Times cited Witt/Kieffer as one of few equal-opportunity recruiters.
- Witt/Kieffer is a charter member of the American Hospital Association’s
Institute for Diversity in Health Management (IFD) and supports
the National Association of Healthcare Service Executives and other
organizations supporting diversity in not-for-profit arenas.
- Howard Jessamy, who leads the firm’s Diversity Practice,
is based in our Bethesda, MD, office. Howard has received the “Visionary
Award” from the Baltimore Chapter of the National Association
of Health Services for the “individual who, through foresight
and dedication, has positively impacted the development of a healthcare
work force that reflects the diversity of the community it serves.”
