Witt/Kieffer has been retained to conduct the search for the Chief Information Security Officer for North Mississippi Health Services, located in Tupelo, Mississippi.

The Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) position is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic leader to join a highly regarded health system that is financially strong and poised for future growth. North Mississippi Health Services (NMHS) is the market leader in North Mississippi and Northwest Alabama covering a service area of 24 counties and approximately 720,000 people. NMHS is a vibrant, regional healthcare organization and a recipient of many national awards including the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. As a patient and family centered organization, NMHS is focused on continuously improving the health of the people in the region. NMHS has launched an ACO and a CIN to align providers and better manage population health.

Information security is a priority and a key area of focus for the health system’s Board and senior leadership team. As such, the CISO is a critical hire and will have broad visibility and support across the health system. The new CISO will report to the Chief Information Officer and will provide the strategic leadership, planning and oversight for information security. The CISO will fully evaluate the existing environment and provide the leadership to grow, strengthen and transform information security. This will include initiating, facilitating, and promoting activities to foster information security training and awareness within the organization. As a collaborative partner, the CISO will have the opportunity to make a significant impact by helping develop a culture of information security and aligning the program with the mission and goals of the health system.

The ideal candidate for the CISO position will be a polished executive with a track record of success leading information security preferably in a complex healthcare setting. The CISO will be viewed as a trusted advisor who is a team player, collaborative, transparent, and solutions driven.  He/she will be able to build the business case and garner consensus with leaders across NMHS. The position requires a strong leader who can communicate effectively and develop trusting relationships at all levels. The CISO will have the ability to develop an information security program and lead change in a growing health system.
