Job Description

Milwaukee, WI --Froedtert Health and the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) seek a highly collaborative and progressive physician leader to serve as the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Froedtert and the Medical College Community Physicians (CP).  This leadership opportunity arises from the upcoming retirement of the incumbent CMO and affords an innovative and dynamic individual the opportunity to join a healthcare enterprise that is characterized by a shared sense of purpose and a laser focus on the delivery of high quality, safe, cost-effective care through accountability and collaboration.  

CP is a joint venture corporation of Froedtert Health and MCW.  It is comprised of more than 425 community-based providers including 260+ primary care providers.  Operating at more than 25 locations in southeastern Wisconsin, CP is on track to provide over 800,000 outpatient office visit encounters in FY17 and is undergoing a major expansion to three new sites of clinical practice in FY18.  All existing CP primary care sites are recognized as NCQA Level 3 Certified Medical Homes.

Reporting directly to the President of CP, the CMO will provide strategic and visionary input to transform the care delivery model, creating a standardized, evidence-based approach to patient care and a more consistent patient experience through the enhancement of clinical integration and care coordination across all CP clinic sites.  In addition, the CMO will provide leadership and oversee the practice’s recruitment of clinical providers and, together with the Chief Operating Officer, manage the operations of the practice’s clinical quality department.  The CMO will have the opportunity to play an integral role in the Froedtert and MCW Clinically Integrated Network advancing the delivery of healthcare through integration and innovation.  This is a critical role requiring contemporary knowledge and significant experience in ambulatory based medicine.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to lead by influence and example and have a strong commitment to excellence in the care experience from a quality and service aspect and understand the integration of culture and service in creating a patient- centered care delivery model.  He/she will be a physician with appropriate board certification in a primary care specialty, with experience preferably in both academic and community settings including a background in quality management, performance improvement and care redesign.  Preference will be given to those who possess this experience with integrated physician networks with dual cultures of private practice and academic medicine.
