National Council on Aging - Chief of Program Innovation/Impact

Witt/Kieffer is proud to announce we have just launched a search for the National Council on Aging (NCOA) to identify a Chief of Program Innovation/Impact. For more than 65 years, NCOA has been committed to improving the lives of older adults and creating innovative programs that reflect its core values. Since 2010, more than 4.15 million adults have experienced significant positive improvements in their health and economic security thanks to NCOA’s work, but critical, significant opportunities to further leverage the organization’s expertise, access, and partnerships remain untapped. NCOA’s portfolio of programs involves collaborating with community, state, and national partners across the country and is supported by $50 million annually in government, foundation, and corporate grants. This work is complemented by emerging initiatives in social enterprise and direct-to-consumer services. With the ambitious goal of improving the lives of 10 million older adults by 2020, NCOA is seeking an extraordinary executive as their Chief of Program Innovation/Impact to inspire collaborative creative thinking, strategically drive efforts to realize that impact.

Reporting directly to the NCOA’s President & CEO, the Chief of Program Innovation/Impact will spearhead the organization’s grant-related work to improve the health and economic security of millions of older adults by developing and deploying real life solutions critical to better navigating aging. The role will oversee NCOA’s work in healthy aging, benefits access, senior hunger, home equity, and workforce with specific emphasis on the following three areas: innovative design and development of programs, leadership and management, and funding development/diversification.

We are seeking a leader who is entrepreneurial in his/her approach; has a track record of effectively leading a performance-based and outcome-based program and staff; has developed and operationalized strategies that have elevated a program or organization to the next stage of growth/impact; and has recruited, managed, and developed a strong team of staff and program/project managers. S/he will have a proven track-record of progressive experience in proposal development, program management and evaluation, a commitment to quality programs, as well as experience in developing and managing evaluations of community-based program innovations. Also important, this leader will have strong demonstrated ability to secure capital or fundraise across a wide range of stakeholders, has the ability to collaborate with diverse groups of people and handle a variety of constituencies, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in a complex environment with multiple priorities. A Master’s degree is required, Ph.D. preferred.
