Wellforce seeks a highly collaborative and progressive physician leader to serve as the system’s inaugural Chief Physician Executive (CPE).  This is an exceptional opportunity for a high capacity and motivated physician executive to join an evolving health system. Wellforce is a unique healthcare system comprised of an academic medical center, Tufts Medical Center, along with Circle Health, a two hospital system in Lowell, Massachusetts and Hallmark Health, a two hospital system in Melrose and Wakefield, MA, along with their expansive physician organizations. Wellforce’s commitment is to excellence in the care experience from a quality and service aspect and their vision is to create a patient- centered care delivery model.

The new Physician Executive is expected to lead the development and implementation of a Wellforce Physician Enterprise Strategy; four key focus areas will include but not be limited to population health management, clinical integration, growth and access to care as part of the system service line strategy, and operational excellence. This executive should be prepared to be more than the lead physician executive at Wellforce.  The CPE will serve as a partner to other senior executives in the development of this new system, helping to differentiate Wellforce as the market leader in the delivery of patient centered, high value care in both the community and academic settings.

The CPE will report to the Chief Executive Officer of Wellforce System, Norm Deschene, and serve as a member of the Wellforce executive team with responsibility for fostering the clinical leadership and engagement necessary for care strategy, design and implementation across the system.  The new CPE will provide strategic and operational input to transform the delivery of care creating a more consistent patient experience by enhancing clinical integration and care coordination across all venues and levels of care. 

The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to lead by influence and example and have a strong commitment to excellence in the care experience. He/she will be a physician with appropriate board certification in a recognized specialty with experience preferably in both academic and community settings including a background in quality management, performance improvement and care redesign.  Preference will be given to those who possess this experience with integrated physician networks.
