Witt/Kieffer has been retained by MedStar Health to recruit a Group Vice President, Finance for MedStar Franklin Medical Center (MFSMC) and MedStar Harbor Hospital (MHH).

This is an extraordinary opportunity to join MedStar Health and further their mission of serving patients by providing high quality integrated care.  MedStar Health has created a Group Vice President, Finance position to serve as the primary financial officer for the MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center (MFSMC) and MedStar Harbor Hospital (MHH), as a way to create synergy across the market and to further the integration of the hospitals in the Baltimore region.

The Group VP, Finance will serve as a key member of the Executive Management Team and will report to the System Chief Administrative and Financial Officer, with dotted line accountability to the President of the MFSMC and the President of MHH.

Major responsibilities include developing and maintaining a strategic financial plan as well as annual operating and capital budgets, financial analysis of new programs, review of all financial reporting and analyses reports and decision support.  The new Group VP, Finance will be responsible for directing the fiscal functions of MFSMC and MHH in accordance with financial management techniques, practices and policies appropriate within the healthcare industry, in partnership with MedStar’s Professional Support Services Center and MedStar Corporate Office.

The ideal candidate for this role will have a minimum of fifteen years of progressive financial leadership experience in the healthcare industry.  Candidates will have at least five to seven years of direct accounting/finance experience in a complex integrated healthcare system.  Candidates should demonstrate proficiency and experience working collaboratively in a matrixed environment.  A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in finance, accounting, business or a related field is required.   Master’s degree in business, health care administration, accounting, finance or related field and/or professional certification as well as a CPA is desirable.
