The Board of Trustees of Fort Lewis College invites applications, nominations and expressions of interest in the position of President.


The mission, history and aspirations of Fort Lewis College (FLC) are interwoven with the history and people of southwest Colorado and the Four Corners area. A public liberal arts college with strong STEM and professional programs, Fort Lewis College plays a critical role in contributing to the state’s economic and cultural vitality by providing excellent post-secondary education to a richly diverse student population. Fort Lewis College is unique among all institutions of higher education in its history and commitment to the education of Native Americans, Alaska Natives and first generation college students. The college seeks a proven, successful leader with a deep understanding of and familiarity with higher education, a record of achievement in leading and managing change in complex organizations, contemporary best practices in strategic planning and data-based decision making, a collaborative approach to leadership, innate curiosity about Fort Lewis College’s people and their diverse interests and backgrounds, the ability to embrace and embody the mission of the college, and the natural relationship building and communication skills to connect with Fort Lewis College’s constituents.  A Ph.D. is strongly preferred.


The appointment of the next president of Fort Lewis College will begin on July 1, 2018. Inquiries, nominations and applications are invited.
